Whether they see two people who lead together or two people who manage each other at a distance. Whether they see love as a daily choice or something that only shows up when it's convenient.

All of it is being filed away, not consciously, but deeply as the definition of what love looks like, what marriage is, what they should expect and accept in their own relationships one day.

The inheritance you're building:

You can give your children every material advantage. Private schools, opportunities, resources, experiences. And none of it will shape their future relationships more than watching two people fight for each other daily inside your home.

What they witness between you and your spouse becomes their blueprint. The standard they carry unconsciously into their own adult relationships. The pattern they will either replicate or spend years trying to undo.

What this means practically:

This is not a guilt trip. It's an invitation to see your marriage as one of the most significant parenting decisions you will ever make because the health of your relationship is directly shaping the relational health of your children, more than almost any other single factor.

Repair in front of them. Choose each other in front of them. Fight for the marriage in front of them. Let them see that love is not a feeling you wait for, it's a commitment you maintain.
